Why age is only a guide

Two ten year olds in the same class can be years apart in maths. One may be ready for fractions on a number line; the other may still be securing place value. That is normal, and it is why Tivumo starts with five short placement questions rather than a birthday.

Questions parents ask

At what age does Tivumo start?
Tivumo starts at Class 3, usually around age 8, once a child reads short instructions on their own. For younger children, the pages for 5, 6 and 7 year olds have ideas for maths at home.
Can older students use it?
Yes, up to Class 12: calculus, matrices, vectors and probability all come as pictures to move.
Is Tivumo really free?
Yes. Tivumo is free, has no advertising and no in-app purchases. It is supported by an institutional sponsor.
Does it need the internet?
Only to open it the first time. After that it works offline, including on low-cost phones and slow connections.
